Poet and vocalist Yves B Golden collaborates with multi-instrumentalist and producer Ludwig Wandinger, extending their longstanding creative relationship into new territory. Building on previous shared tracks heard on Wandinger’s Is Peace Wild? album on light-years (2024) and the Enkindled compilation via Unguarded (2023), this project was ignited by their first opportunity to create while being in the same room. Mug emphasizes raw performance and experimental recording processes, its sound seesawing between no-wave and shoegaze, ambient and spoken word influences. Through a year of exploring the power of fragility and emotional clarity, the band compiled The Well—a fully realized cycle of raw, deep ballads performed in stripped-down, analog fashion.
